     Brian Charles MacDermot was born on 29 January 1914.¹ He is the son of Percy John Vincent MacDermot and Evleen O'Connor.² He married Mary Arden Hunter, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Alan John Hunter, on 22 April 1949.¹
      Serv 1936 For –72, Consul-Gen Oporto 1962–68, Amb and Consul-Gen Paraguay 1968–72.¹ He graduated with a Downside and Balliol College Oxford Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).¹ He was Lieutenant, Royal Victorian Order (L.V.O.) in 1961.¹ He was Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1968.¹ He lived in 2003 at 2 Henry's Yard, Berwick St. James, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.¹
