Catherine Maree1

     Catherine Maree was born in 1827 at Ireland.2 She was the daughter of Luke Maree.3 She married Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin, son of Arthur French and Margaret Costello, on 13 February 1851 in a in an Roman Catholic ceremony which under the laws of Ireland at the time was held invalid marriage.1 Catherine and Charles were also married in a religious ceremony on 17 May 1854.3 She died on 13 October 1900 at Caher House, County Roscommon, Ireland.3
     From 13 February 1851, her married name became French. After her marriage, Catherine Maree was styled as Baroness de Freyne of Coolavin on 22 August 1863.

Hon. Charles French1

     Hon. Charles French was born on 21 October 1851.1 He was the son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree.2 He married Constance Ellinor Chichester, daughter of Lt.-Col. Charles Raleigh Chichester and Mary Josephine Balfe, in 1880.1 He died on 27 October 1925 at age 74.1
     He was held with his two immediately younger brothers to be illegitimate hence incapable of inheriting the title, which accordingly passed on their father's death to the 4th son.1 He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Roscommon between 1873 and 1880.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Roscommon in 1887.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Roscommon.1

     Stephen Grehan was born in 1858.2 He married Mary Esther Chichester, daughter of Lt.-Col. Charles Raleigh Chichester and Mary Josephine Balfe, in 1883. He died on 4 April 1937.2
     He lived at Clonmeen, County Cork, Ireland.1

     Constance Ellinor Chichester is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Charles Raleigh Chichester and Mary Josephine Balfe.3 She married Hon. Charles French, son of Charles French, 3rd Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Catherine Maree, in 1880.1
     From 1880, her married name became French.

Hugh Hyacinth O'Rorke MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin was born on 1 July 1834.2 He was the son of Charles Joseph MacDermot and Arabella Mary O'Rorke.2 He married, firstly, Mary Howley, daughter of Edward Howley and Mary Anne Ennis, on 1 December 1861.2 He married, secondly, Henrietta Maria Blake, daughter of Henry Blake, on 25 March 1872.2 He died on 6 February 1904 at age 69.2

     Percy John Vincent MacDermot was born on 21 July 1875.2 He was the son of Rt. Hon. Hugh Hyacinth O'Rorke MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Henrietta Maria Blake.2 He married, firstly, Evleen O'Connor, daughter of Rt. Hon. Charles Andrew O'Connor and Blanch Mary Scully, on 30 April 1913.2 He married, secondly, Amy Mary French, daughter of Hon. Charles French and Constance Ellinor Chichester, on 2 November 1927.1 He died on 7 June 1955 at age 79.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the West Indian Regiment.2 He lived at Drumdoe, Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland.2
