     Arthur Malet was born on 7 November 1806.¹ He was the son of Sir Charles Warre Malet, 1st Bt. and Susanna Wales.² He married Mary Sophia Willoughby, daughter of Sir J P Willoughby, on 3 September 1846.¹ He married Annie Louisa Thompson, daughter of George Powney Thompson, in December 1854.¹ He died on 13 September 1888 at age 81, having by her had:.¹
