     Major Thomas Evans Bell was born on 11 November 1825 at London, England.1 He was the son of William Bell and Elizabeth Kinnear.1 He was baptised on 3 February 1826 at St. Botolph Without, Aldgate, London, England.1 He married Emily Ernest Magnus on 10 January 1866 at Kensington, London, England.1 He died on 12 September 1887 at age 61 at 9 Addison Road, Kensington, London, England.1
     He gained the rank of Ensign on 19 August 1842 in the service of the 2nd European Regiment, Madras Army.1 He wrote the book The Task of To-day, published 1852.1 He was Assistant Commissioner at Nagpur between 5 September 1854 and 1860.1 He gained the rank of Captain on 6 April 1856.1 He wrote the book The English in India, published 1859.1 He was Seputy Commssioner of Police at Madras between 1861 and 1863.1 He wrote the book The Empire in India, published 1864.1 He wrote the book The Mysore Reversion, published 1865.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Madras Staff Corps.1 He wrote the book Remarks on the Mysore Blue Book, published 1866.1 He wrote the book Retrospects and Prospects of Indian Policy, published 1868.1 He wrote the book The Great parliamentary Bore, published 1869.1 He wrote the book The Oxus and the Indus, published 1869.1 He wrote the book Our great Vassal Empire, published 1870.1 He wrote the book The Bengal Reversion, published 1872.1 He wrote the book Last Counsels of an Unknown Counsellor, published 1877.1 He wrote the book Memoirs of General John Briggs, published 1886.1
