     Sylvia Evelyn Cotterell was born on 14 November 1896.1 She was the daughter of Sir John Richard Geers Cotterell, 4th Bt. and Lady Evelyn Amy Gordon-Lennox.1 She married, firstly, Captain Christopher Digby Leyland, son of Christopher John Leyland and Helen Dora Cayley, on 16 November 1916.1 She and Captain Christopher Digby Leyland were divorced in 1929.1 She married, secondly, Roland Norris Fawcett on 2 November 1929.1 She died on 4 February 1944 at age 47.1
     From 16 November 1916, her married name became Leyland. Her married name became Fawcett.
