He married Drusilla Jane Montgomerie, daughter of Lt.-Cdr. John Alastair Montgomerie and Patricia Maturin-Baird, on 1 May 1976.1 He died on 20 February 2011 at age 63 at Balblair House, Kirkhill, Inverness-shire, Scotland.2
