     Captain Alexander Moore Vandeleur was born on 25 December 1883. He was the son of Hector Stewart Vandeleur and Charlotte Foster. He married Hon. Violet Ethel Meysey-Thompson, daughter of Sir Henry Meysey Meysey-Thompson, 1st and last Baron Knaresborough and Ethel Adeline Pottinger, on 3 November 1910. He died on 30 October 1914 at age 30, killed in action.
     Captain Alexander Moore Vandeleur fought in the First World War.
