     Zoe Gwynedd Quilter was born on 22 January 1912.1 She was the daughter of Sir William Eley Cuthbert Quilter, 2nd Bt. and Hon. Gwynnedd Douglas-Pennant. She married Lt.-Col. Brian Morton Forster Franks, son of Lt.-Col. George Despard Franks and May Geraldine Morton, on 5 January 1939.1 She died in 1977.2 She was also reported to have died on 1 July 1979.1
     From 5 January 1939, her married name became Franks.1

     Lt.-Col. Brian Morton Forster Franks was born on 12 September 1910.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. George Despard Franks and May Geraldine Morton.2 He married Kathleen Bridget Kindersley, daughter of Major Guy Molesworth Kindersley and Kathleen Agnes Rhoda Elton.3 He married Zoe Gwynedd Quilter, daughter of Sir William Eley Cuthbert Quilter, 2nd Bt. and Hon. Gwynnedd Douglas-Pennant, on 5 January 1939.4 He died on 6 May 1982 at age 71.1,5
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.6 He fought in the Second World War.6 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1943.6 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Middlesex Yeomanry.6 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1944.6 He was awarded the Legion d'Honneur.6 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.6 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1945.6 He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the 21st SAS Regiment.6 He was Deputy Chairman of GRA Property Trust Ltd.6 He was Managing Director of Trust Houses Forte Ltd in 1972.6 He lived in 1976 at Sutton Old Vicarage, Woodbridge, Suffolk, EnglandG.6

Lt.-Col. George Despard Franks

     Lt.-Col. George Despard Franks was born on 9 January 1873.1 He was the son of Matthew Henry Franks and Gertrude Priscilla Despard.2 He married May Geraldine Morton, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir Gerald de Courcy Morton, on 6 June 1908.1 He died on 8 October 1918 at age 45 at Le Cateau, FranceG, killed in action.3,1
     He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Heidelberg University, Heidelberg, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.1 He fought in the Boer War between 1898 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to General commanding 7th Division, 3rd Army Corps.1 He fought in the First World War.3 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 19th Hussars.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.3

She married, firstly, Patrick William Butler Pole-Carew, son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Reginald Pole-Carew and Lady Beatrice Frances Elizabeth Butler, on 17 January 1939.2 She and Patrick William Butler Pole-Carew were divorced in 1950.2 She married, secondly, Major William Henry Cropley Luddington, son of Lt.-Col. W. J. C. Luddington and D. E. Vinning, on 8 December 1958.1 She died in 1976.2
     From 17 January 1939, her married name became Pole-Carew.2 From 8 December 1958, her married name became Luddington.1 She lived at Walnut Tree House, Turweston, Northamptonshire, England.1

He married, firstly, Sonia Quilter, daughter of Sir William Eley Cuthbert Quilter, 2nd Bt. and Hon. Gwynnedd Douglas-Pennant, on 17 January 1939.1 He and Sonia Quilter were divorced in 1950.1 He married, secondly, Mary Patience Phillips, daughter of Major Richard Ernest Gilchrist Phillips, on 19 April 1950.1 He died on 23 June 1971 at age 57.1
