     Lt.-Cdr. David Verney was born on 31 May 1918.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Sir Ralph Verney, 1st Bt. and Janette Cheveria Hamilton Walker.2 He married Hon. Mary Kathleen Boscawen, daughter of Evelyn Hugh John Boscawen, 8th Viscount Falmouth and Mary Margaret Desiree Meynell, on 17 January 1948.2 He died on 19 October 1992 at age 74 at Truro, Cornwall, England.2,3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy. He held the office of High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1964.2
