Robert Charles de Grey Vyner was born on 13 February 1842. He was the son of Henry Vyner and Lady Mary Gertrude Robinson. He married Eleanor Margaret Duncombe Shafto, daughter of Reverend Slingsby Duncombe Shafto, on 10 July 1865. He died on 19 March 1915 at age 73.

He married Athenais de Rochechouart de Mortemart, daughter of Louis Victor de Mortemart, Duc de Vionne, on 3 August 1955. He and Athenais de Rochechouart de Mortemart were divorced in 1962. He died in 1977.
