     Lionel George Henry Seymour Dawson-Damer, 5th Earl of Portarlington was born on 19 August 1858.1 He was the son of Lionel Seymour William Dawson-Damer, 4th Earl of Portarlington and Hon. Harriet Lydia Montagu.1 He married Emma Andalusia Frere Kennedy, daughter of Lord Nigel Kennedy and Catherine Anne May, on 25 October 1881.1 He died on 31 August 1900 at age 42.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1878 and 1886 in the 2nd Battalion, Scots Guards.1 He succeeded as the 6th Lord Dawson, Baron Dawson of Dawson's Court, in the Queen's County [I., 1770] on 17 December 1892.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Portarlington, in the Queen's County [I., 1785] on 17 December 1892.1 He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Carlow, co. Carlow [I., 1776] on 17 December 1892.1 He was appointed Representative Peer [Ireland] between 1896 and 1900.1 He gained the rank of Captain and Honorary Major in the Dorset Yeomanry Cavalry.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Dorset.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Queen's County.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1

Fergus Bowes-Lyon and Lady Christian Norah Dawson-Damer.1,2 She married Edward Wilfred George Joicey-Cecil, son of Colonel Lord John Pakenham Joicey-Cecil and Isabella Maud Joicey, on 28 April 1945.1 She died on 18 January 1989 at age 73.1
     She was with the Voluntary Aid Detachment.1 Her married name became Joicey-Cecil.
