Frederick John Robinson, 1st Earl of Ripon was born on 1 November 1782.1 He was the son of Thomas Robinson, 2nd Baron Grantham and Lady Mary Jemima Yorke.1 He married Lady Sarah Albinia Louisa Hobart, daughter of Robert Hobart, 4th Earl of Buckinghamshire and Margaretta Bourke, on 1 September 1814.4 He died on 28 January 1859 at age 76.1Frederick John Robinson, 1st Earl of Ripon held the office of First Lord of the Treasury between 1827 and 1828.1 He was created 1st Viscount Goderich [U.K.] on 28 April 1827.1 He held the office of Secretary of State for the Colonies.1 He held the office of Lord Privy Seal.1 He was created 1st Earl of Ripon, co. York [U.K.] on 13 April 1833.1
