     Charles Eric Alexander Hambro, Baron Hambro was born on 24 July 1930.3 He was the son of Sir Charles Jocelyn Hambro and Pamela Cobbold.2 He married, firstly, Rose Evelyn Cotterell, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Richard Charles Geers Cotterell, 5th Bt. and Lady Lettice Lygon, on 4 July 1954.3 He and Rose Evelyn Cotterell were divorced in 1976.3 He married, secondly, Cherry Felicity Huggins, daughter of Sir John Huggins, on 2 July 1976.3 He died on 7 November 2002 at age 72.1
     Charles Eric Alexander Hambro, Baron Hambro was baptised with the name of Charles Eric Axel Hambro.4 He was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1949 in the service of the Coldstream Guards.3 He was managing director of Hambros in 1957.3 He was a director of Taylor Woodrow between 1962 and 1997.3 He was a director of GRE Assurance in 1968.3 He was chairman of Hambros (Hambros plc after 1983) between 1972 and 1997.3 He was a director of P&OSN Company between 1987 and 2001.3 He was a director of San Paolo Bank Holdings in 1989.3 He was created Baron Hambro, of Dixton and Dumbleton in the County of Gloucestershire [U.K. Life Peer] on 26 September 1994.1 He lived in 1999 at Dixton Manor, Gotherington, Gloucestershire, England.3
