Alexander John Forbes-Leith, 1st Baron Leith of Fyvie was born on 6 August 1847.1 He was the son of Rear-Admiral John James Leith and Margaret Forbes.1 He married Marie Louise January, daughter of Derick Algernon January, on 19 October 1871.1 He died on 14 November 1925 at age 78.1
