     Sir Philip Stanhope, 1st Earl of Chesterfield was born in 1584.1 He was the son of Sir John Stanhope and Cordell Alington.1 He married, firstly, Catherine Hastings, daughter of Francis Hastings, Lord Hastings and Sarah Harington, in 1605.1 He married, secondly, Anne Pakington, daughter of Sir John Pakington and Dorothy Smith, after 1636.1 He died on 12 September 1656, a prisoner.1 He was buried at St. Gile's-in-the-Fields Church, London, England.1
     Sir Philip Stanhope, 1st Earl of Chesterfield was invested as a Knight on 16 December 1605 at Whitehall, London, England.1 He was created 1st Baron Stanhope of Shelford, co. Nottingham [England] on 7 November 1616.1 He was created 1st Earl of Chesterfield, co. Derby [England] on 4 August 1628.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1642 in the service of the Regiment of Dragoons.1 He fought in the Siege of Lichfield in 1643, where he became a prisoner.1
     He had seven other sons and two daughters by his first wife.2

     Captain Hon. Edward Gore was born in 1797.1 He was the son of Sir Arthur Saunders Gore, 2nd Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands and Elizabeth Underwood.1 He married Mary Anne Douglas on 28 October 1822.1 He died on 10 January 1879.1
     Captain Hon. Edward Gore gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.1

     Mary Anne Douglas married Captain Hon. Edward Gore, son of Sir Arthur Saunders Gore, 2nd Earl of Arran of the Arran Islands and Elizabeth Underwood, on 28 October 1822.1 She died on 4 August 1880.1
     From 28 October 1822, her married name became Gore.1

     Thomas Foley, 2nd Baron Foley was born on 24 June 1742. He was the son of Thomas Foley, 1st Baron Foley and Hon. Grace Granville. He married Henrietta Stanhope, daughter of William Stanhope, 2nd Earl of Harrington and Lady Caroline Fitzroy, on 20 March 1776. He died on 2 July 1793 at age 51.
     Thomas Foley, 2nd Baron Foley gained the title of 2nd Baron Foley.
