He is the son of Major William Henry Burn-Callander and Hermione Garforth.2 He married Penelope Georgina Crossley, daughter of Anthony Crommelin Crossley and Clare Frances Fortescue Thomson, on 3 October 1951.1 He and Penelope Georgina Crossley were divorced in 1969.1 He died on 26 March 1999 at age 77.3
