Lt.-Col. Frederick Charles Aylmer was born on 24 July 1814 at Burton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Admiral John Aylmer and Frances Pearson.1 He married Maria Anne Gwatkin, daughter of John Gwatkin and Charlotte Fincher Trist, on 22 September 1853.1 He died on 20 March 1882 at age 67, without issue.1
Lt.-Col. Frederick Charles Aylmer gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 89th Regiment.1 He was decorated with the Knight, Legion of Honour of Medjidie.1
