     Edward Alfred Alexander Baldwin, 4th Earl Baldwin of Bewdley was born on 3 January 1938.1 He is the son of Arthur Windham Baldwin, 3rd Earl Baldwin of Bewdley and Joan Elspeth Tomes.1 He married Sarah MacMurray James, daughter of Evan Maitland James, in 1970.1
     Edward Alfred Alexander Baldwin, 4th Earl Baldwin of Bewdley was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1961 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).2 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1966 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the Intelligence Corps.2 He succeeded to the title of 4th Viscount Corvedale, of Corvedale, co. Shropshire [U.K., 1937] on 5 July 1976.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Earl Baldwin of Bewdley [U.K., 1937] on 5 July 1976.1 He lived in 1999 at Manor Farm House, Godstow Road, Upper Wolvercote, Oxfordshire, England.2

     Sarah MacMurray James was the daughter of Evan Maitland James.1 She married Edward Alfred Alexander Baldwin, 4th Earl Baldwin of Bewdley, son of Arthur Windham Baldwin, 3rd Earl Baldwin of Bewdley and Joan Elspeth Tomes, in 1970.1 She died in 2001.2
     From 1970, her married name became Baldwin.1 As a result of her marriage, Sarah MacMurray James was styled as Countess Baldwin of Bewdley on 5 July 1976.
