     Major James Douglas was born on 6 November 1817.1 He was the son of General Sir James Dawes Douglas and Marianne Bullock.1 He married Georgina Agnes Beresford, daughter of Colonel William Beresford.1 He died on 23 April 1858 at age 40, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the 60th Rifles.1

Georgina Agnes Beresford1

     Georgina Agnes Beresford is the daughter of Colonel William Beresford.1 She married, firstly, Major James Douglas, son of General Sir James Dawes Douglas and Marianne Bullock.1 She married, secondly, Reverend Thomas Rawson Birks on 17 May 1866.1
     Her married name became Douglas.1 From 17 May 1866, her married name became Birks.1

Reverend Thomas Rawson Birks1

     Reverend Thomas Rawson Birks was born on 28 September 1810 at Staveley, Derbyshire, England.2 He married unknown daughter Bickersteth, daughter of Reverend Edward Bickersteth and Sarah Bignold, in 1844.2 He married Georgina Agnes Beresford, daughter of Colonel William Beresford, on 17 May 1866.1 He died on 19 July 1883 at age 72.2
     He wrote the book Horae Evangelicae, published 1852.2 He wrote the book Modern Rationalism, published 1853.2 He wrote the book The Bible and Modern Thought, published 1861.2 He was Professor of Moral Philosophy in 1872 at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2

     Sholto James Douglas was born on 14 June 1820.1 He was the son of General Sir James Dawes Douglas and Marianne Bullock.1 He married Ann Harriet Mills, daughter of William Mills, on 17 May 1853.1 He died on 10 June 1868 at age 47.1
     He was a practising barrister.1
