     George Arden Ridley was born on 17 April 1888.1 He was the son of Henry Colborne Maunoir Ridley and Florence Myra Wake.1 He died on 1 July 1962 at age 74, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 14th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment, as an interpreter.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1917, where he was wounded.1
