     Charles Balfour was born in 1786.1 He was the son of James Balfour and Anna Gertrude Haatz.1 He married Maria Caroline Harington, daughter of Sir John Edward Harington, 8th Bt., on 1 July 1826.1 He died before 1876.1

She was the daughter of Sir Adrian Donald Wilde Pollock.1 She married Sir Cyril Asquith, Baron Asquith of Bishopstone, son of Herbert Henry Asquith, 1st Earl of Oxford and Asquith and Helen Kelsall Melland, on 12 February 1918.1 She died in 1964.1
     Her married name became Asquith. As a result of her marriage, Anne Stephanie Pollock was styled as Baroness Asquith of Bishopstone in April 1951.
