     Admiral Sir William Houston Stewart was the son of Admiral Sir Houston Shaw-Stewart and Martha Miller. He married Blanche Caroline Stewart, daughter of Admiral Hon. Keith Stewart and Mary Caroline Fitzroy, on 11 January 1872.1 He died on 13 November 1901.
     Admiral Sir William Houston Stewart was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.).1

     Admiral Sir Houston Shaw-Stewart was born on 2 August 1791. He was the son of Sir Michael Shaw-Stewart, 5th Bt. and Catherine Maxwell. He married Martha Miller, daughter of Sir William Miller of Glenlee, 2nd Bt. and Grizel Chalmers, in February 1818.1 He died on 10 December 1875 at age 84.
     Admiral Sir Houston Shaw-Stewart was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.).1 He gained the rank of Admiral in the service of the Royal Navy.

     Martha Miller was the daughter of Sir William Miller of Glenlee, 2nd Bt. and Grizel Chalmers.2 She married Admiral Sir Houston Shaw-Stewart, son of Sir Michael Shaw-Stewart, 5th Bt. and Catherine Maxwell, in February 1818.1 She died on 17 April 1870.1
     From February 1818, her married name became Shaw-Stewart.

     Sir William Miller of Glenlee, 2nd Bt. was born on 12 August 1755.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Miller of Glenlee, 1st Bt. and Margaret Murdoch.2 He married Grizel Chalmers, daughter of George Chalmers, on 5 November 1777.1 He died on 9 May 1846 at age 90.1
     Sir William Miller of Glenlee, 2nd Bt. succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Miller, of Glenlee, Kirkcudbrightshire [G.B., 1788] on 27 September 1789.1 He held the office of Lord of Session.1 He was styled as Lord Glenlee [Scottish Law Lord].1
