     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Suffolk Regiment (Special Rerve).1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1918 in the service of the Royal Air Force.1

      Her married name became Marsham-Townshend. She gained the rank of Senior Commandant in the service of the Auxiliary Territorial Service.1 She was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1945.1
