     Hon. Robert Marsham-Townshend was born on 15 November 1834. He was the son of Charles Marsham, 2nd Earl of Romney and Hon. Mary Elizabeth Townshend. He married Clara Catherine Paley, daughter of Reverend George Barber Paley, on 5 April 1877. He died on 11 December 1914 at age 80.
     Hon. Robert Marsham-Townshend held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1

She married, firstly, Reverend Frederick Manners-Sutton, son of John Manners-Sutton and Anne Manners, on 2 September 1821. She married, secondly, John Lodge Ellerton on 24 August 1837. She died on 17 July 1864.
     From 2 September 1821, her married name became Manners-Sutton. From 24 August 1837, her married name became Ellerton.
