     Edward Symes Bayly was born on 9 April 1807.¹ He was the son of Reverend Henry Lambart Bayly and Selina Levinge.¹ He married Catherine FitzGerald, daughter of Maurice FitzGerald, 18th Knight of Kerry, on 20 June 1835.¹ He died on 26 November 1884 at age 77.¹
     Edward Symes Bayly held the office of Sheriff in 1837.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Wicklow Artillery.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 34th Regiment.¹ He lived at Ballyarthur, County Wicklow, Ireland.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).¹

     Catherine FitzGerald was born before 1820. She was the daughter of Maurice FitzGerald, 18th Knight of Kerry.¹ She married Edward Symes Bayly, son of Reverend Henry Lambart Bayly and Selina Levinge, on 20 June 1835.¹ She died in 1908.¹
     From 20 June 1835, her married name became Bayly.¹

     Maurice FitzGerald, 18th Knight of Kerry was born on 29 December 1772.² He died on 6 March 1849 at age 76.²

     Lt.-Col. Edward Richard Bayly was born on 20 June 1845.¹ He was the son of Edward Symes Bayly and Catherine FitzGerald.¹ He married Adelaide Alicia Tottenham, daughter of Charles John Tottenham and Hon. Isabella Maude, on 10 August 1875.¹ He died on 11 October 1907 at age 62.¹
     Lt.-Col. Edward Richard Bayly gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and honorary Colonel in the service of the Wicklow Artillery.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the The Buffs (East Kent Regiment).¹ He lived at Ballyarthur, County Wicklow, Ireland.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).¹

     Adelaide Alicia Tottenham was the daughter of Charles John Tottenham and Hon. Isabella Maude.^1,2 She married Lt.-Col. Edward Richard Bayly, son of Edward Symes Bayly and Catherine FitzGerald, on 10 August 1875.¹ She died on 24 November 1930.¹
     From 10 August 1875, her married name became Bayly.¹

     John Watson Richardson was born on 18 July 1882.¹ He married Elizabeth Blakeney Roberts, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Samuel Roberts, 1st Bt. and Martha Susan Blakeney, on 9 July 1908.¹ He died on 3 May 1917 at age 34, killed in action.¹

     Edward Archibald Theodore Bayly was born on 19 June 1877.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Edward Richard Bayly and Adelaide Alicia Tottenham.¹ He married Ileene Caroline Ethel Otway Inglefield, daughter of Major Arthur Augustus Hamlet Inglefield, on 11 April 1921.¹ He died on 10 December 1959 at age 82.¹
     Edward Archibald Theodore Bayly fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was seriously wounded, and won two medals and seven clasps.¹ He fought in the Sudan in 1908, where he won a medal and clasp.¹ He fought in the Sudan in 1910, where he again won a medal and three clasps.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.¹ He was decorated with the Commander, Order of the Crown of Italy.¹ He was decorated with the Order of the Nile (3rd class).¹ He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.¹ He held the office of Governor of the Western Desert Province Frontier Administration, Egypt between 1924 and 1930.¹ He lived at Ballyarthur, County Wicklow, Ireland.¹
