     Robert FitzGerald, 17th Knight of Kerry was born in 1716.1 He was the son of Maurice FitzGerald, 14th Knight of Kerry and Elizabeth Crosbie.1,2 He married, firstly, Lucy Leslie, daughter of John Leslie, in March 1746.1 He married, secondly, Catherine FitzGerald, daughter of Thomas Fitzgerald, 18th Knight of Glin and Mary FitzGerald, in 1752.1 He married, thirdly, Katherine Sandes, daughter of Launcelot Sandes, in March 1770.1 He died on 5 December 1781.1
     Robert FitzGerald, 17th Knight of Kerry graduated with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.).1 He held the office of Judge of the Admiralty Court.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dingle.1 He succeeded to the title of 17th Knight of Kerry in 1780.1
