     Sir Peter George FitzGerald, 1st Bt. was born on 15 September 1808.1 He was the son of Maurice FitzGerald, 18th Knight of Kerry and Maria La Touche.1,2 He married Julia Hussey, daughter of Peter Bodkin Hussey, on 11 August 1838.1 He died on 6 August 1880 at age 71.1
     Sir Peter George FitzGerald, 1st Bt. succeeded to the title of 19th Knight of Kerry in 1849.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Kerry in 1849.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Carlow in 1875.1 He was created 1st Baronet FitzGerald, of Valencia, co. Kerry [U.K.] on 8 July 1880.3
