     Marjory Maxwell was born in 1573 at Tealing, Angus, Scotland.2 She was the daughter of Hugh Maxwell.1 She married Sir James Elphinstone, 1st Lord Balmerinoch, son of Robert Elphinstone, 3rd Lord Elphinstone and Margaret Drummond, before 23 December 1597.1 She died after 2 August 1601.1
     From before 23 December 1597, her married name became Elphinstone.1

     Mary Emlen Lloyd Lowell was born circa 1884.1 She was the daughter of John Lowell.1 She married Randal Thomas Mowbray Berkeley, 8th Earl of Berkeley, son of George Lennox Rawdon Berkeley, 7th Earl of Berkeley and Cécile Drummond, on 8 November 1924.1 She died on 11 August 1975 at Assisi, ItalyG.1
     From 8 November 1924, her married name became Berkeley. After her marriage, Mary Emlen Lloyd Lowell was styled as Countess of Berkeley on 8 November 1924.

     He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)1 He was appointed Knight in 1974.2 He was Composition Professor at Royal Acadamy of Music, London, EnglandG.1
