     Sir Frederick Black Alison, 5th Bt. was born on 5 August 1893.1 He was the son of Sir Archibald Alison, 3rd Bt. and Georgina Sarah Ann Bond-Cabbell.1 He married Lilian Phoebe Phillips, daughter of Louis Charles Phillips, on 2 September 1919.1 He died on 13 January 1970 at age 76.2,3
     He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919.1 He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Alison, of Possil House, co. Devon [U.K., 1852] on 9 December 1967.1

     Reverend Archibald Alison was born on 13 November 1757.1 He was the son of Archibald Alison and Margaret Harte.1 He married Dorothea Montague Gregory, daughter of Professor John Gregory and Hon. Elizabeth Forbes, on 19 June 1782.1 He died on 17 May 1839 at age 81.1
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.)1 He was prebendary at Sarum, Wiltshire, England.1 He was vicar at High Ercall, Shropshire, England.1 He was minister at Kenley, Shropshire, England.1 He wrote the book Essays on the nature and principles of taste.1
