Lt.-Cdr. Hon. John Michael Southwell was born on 17 December 1901.1 He was the son of Arthur Robert Pyers Southwell, 5th Viscount Southwell of Castle Mattress and Hon. Dorothy Katharine Walrond.1 He married Daphne Lewin Watson, daughter of Sir Geoffrey Lewin Watson, 3rd Bt., on 29 September 1932.1 He died in December 1944, killed in a flying accident while on active service.1
