     Sir John George Ogilvy, 5th Lord Banff was born on 18 February 1716/17.1 He was the son of Sir George Ogilvy, 4th Lord Banff and Helen Lauder.1 He married Mary Ogilvy, daughter of Captain James Ogilvy, on 18 August 1735 at Fleet Prison, London, EnglandG.1 He died on 29 July 1738 at age 21 at Black Rocks, Cullen, Morayshire, ScotlandG, drowned while bathing, without issue.1 He was buried on 1 August 1738 at Banff, Banffshire, ScotlandG.1
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Ogilvie [S., 1627] in January 1717/18.1 He succeeded as the 5th Lord Banff [S., 1642] in January 1717/18.1

     Mary Ogilvy was born circa 1715.1 She was the daughter of Captain James Ogilvy.1 She married, firstly, Sir John George Ogilvy, 5th Lord Banff, son of Sir George Ogilvy, 4th Lord Banff and Helen Lauder, on 18 August 1735 at Fleet Prison, London, EnglandG.1 She married, secondly, Reverend Thomas Kemp after 1738.1 She died on 31 January 1784.1 Her will (dated 1 October 1773 to 28 January 1784) was proven (by probate) on 11 February 1784.1 She was buried at Cheam, Surrey, EnglandG.1
     After her marriage, Mary Ogilvy was styled as Baroness Banff on 18 August 1735. From after 1738, her married name became Kemp.1
