     George Rowland Blades, 1st Baron Ebbisham was born on 15 April 1868.3 He was the son of Rowland Hill Blades and Agnes Amelia Fletcher.4 He married Margaret Emma Retner, daughter of Arthur Retner, on 17 January 1907.3 He died on 24 May 1953 at age 85.
