     He was educated at Wye Agricultural College, Wye, Kent, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the Essex Yeomanry, Royal Horse Artillery.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Essex in 1954.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Essex in 1966.1 He was chairman of Struut & Parker (Farms) Ltd.1 He was invested as a Knight in 1972.1
