      From 8 August 1970, her married name became Maclay.

     Joseph Paton Maclay, 2nd Baron Maclay was born on 31 May 1899.¹ He was the son of Joseph Paton Maclay, 1st Baron Maclay and Martha Strang.² He married Nancy Margaret Greig, daughter of Robert Coventry Greig, on 24 September 1936.¹ He died on 7 November 1969 at age 70.¹
     He graduated with a Fettes and Trin College Cambridge Master of Arts (M.A.).¹ He gained the title of 2nd Baron Maclay. He was Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Lib) Paisley , Minister War Transport's Rep USSR 1941–42, Pres UK Chamber Shipping 1946–47, chm: Internat Chamber Shipping 1947, Clydesdale and N of Scotland Bank, Maclay and MacIntyre Ltd in 1931.¹ He was Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1946.¹ He was president Boys Bde, Lord Dean of Guild Glasgow , Commander Order Orange Nassau, Netherlands in 1952.¹

     Nancy Margaret Greig is the daughter of Robert Coventry Greig.² She married Joseph Paton Maclay, 2nd Baron Maclay, son of Joseph Paton Maclay, 1st Baron Maclay and Martha Strang, on 24 September 1936.¹
