     Rose Florence Ward was born on 29 August 1866.1 She was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Hon. Bernard Matthew Ward and Emily Maria La Touche.1 She married Brig.-Gen. John Hotham on 10 December 1889.1 She died on 5 January 1944 at age 77.1
     From 10 December 1889, her married name became Hotham.1
