     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1923.2 He held the office of Gentleman Usher of the Blue Rod, Order of St. Michael and St. George in 1934.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1938.2
