     Major Sir Rupert Rodney Francis Tress Barry, 4th Bt. was born on 6 December 1910.2 He was the son of Sir Claude Francis Barry, 3rd Bt. and Angela Doris Manners Hume-Spry.2 He married, firstly, Diana Madeline Thompson, daughter of Rowland O'Brien Thompson, on 7 March 1936.2 He married, secondly, Sheila Georgina Veronica White, daughter of Major George Joseph Francis White, on 12 May 1951.3 He died in 1977.3
     Major Sir Rupert Rodney Francis Tress Barry, 4th Bt. was educated at King's School, Canterbury, Kent, England.2 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 1st Green Jackets (43rd and 52nd).2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was captured and held as a POW.2 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1945.2 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Barry, of St. Leonard's Hill, Clewer, Berks and Keiss Castle, Caithness [U.K., 1899] on 25 October 1970.2 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron De Barry [Portugal] on 25 October 1970.2
