     Gustaf IV Adolf von Holstein-Gottorp, King of Sweden was born on 1 November 1778 at Stockholm, Sweden.1 He was the son of Gustav III von Holstein-Gottorp, King of Sweden and Sophie Magdalene Oldenburg, Princess of Denmark.1 He married Friederike Dorothea Wilhelmine Prinzessin von Baden, daughter of Karl Ludwig Markgraf von Baden and Amalie Friederike Prinzessin von Hessen-Darmstadt, on 31 October 1797 at Stockholm, Sweden.1 He and Friederike Dorothea Wilhelmine Prinzessin von Baden were divorced on 17 February 1812.1 He died on 7 February 1837 at age 58 at St. Gallen, Switzerland.1
     He succeeded to the title of King Gustaf IV of Sweden on 29 March 1792.1

     Luise Amelie Stephanie Prinzessin von Baden was born on 5 June 1811 at Schwetzingen, Germany.1 She was the daughter of Karl Ludwig Friedrich Großherzog von Baden and Stéphanie Louise Adrienne de Beauharnais, Vicomtesse de Beauharnais.2 She married Gustaf von Holstein-Gottorp, Prince of Vasa, son of Gustaf IV Adolf von Holstein-Gottorp, King of Sweden and Friederike Dorothea Wilhelmine Prinzessin von Baden, on 9 November 1830 at Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.2 She died on 19 July 1854 at age 43 at Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.1
     She was a member of the House of Zähringen. She gained the title of Prinzessin von Baden.1
