     Frances Hawkins was born before 1783.¹

     Lord Claud John Hamilton was born on 20 February 1843.¹ He was the son of Sir James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn and Lady Louisa Jane Russell.¹ He married Carolina Chandos-Pole, daughter of Edward Sacheverell Chandos-Pole and Lady Anna Caroline Stanhope, on 20 July 1878.¹ He died on 26 January 1925 at age 81.¹
     Lord Claud John Hamilton was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Londonderry between 1865 and 1868.¹ He held the office of a Lord of the Treasury in 1868.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for King's Lynn between 1869 and 1880.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool between 1880 and 1888.¹ He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria between 1887 and 1997.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Kensington between 1910 and 1918.¹ He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1917.¹ He was invested as a Knight of Justice, Order of St. John of Jerusalem (K.J.St.J.).¹ He held the office of High Steward of the Borough of Great Yarmouth and of Harwich.¹

     Carolina Chandos-Pole was born on 19 July 1857. She was the daughter of Edward Sacheverell Chandos-Pole and Lady Anna Caroline Stanhope.¹ She married Lord Claud John Hamilton, son of Sir James Hamilton, 1st Duke of Abercorn and Lady Louisa Jane Russell, on 20 July 1878.¹ She died on 21 September 1911 at age 54.¹
     From 20 July 1878, her married name became Hamilton.

     Henry Fane was born circa 1560.¹ He was the son of Henry Fane and Elizabeth White.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Fane, daughter of Thomas Fane, cousins.¹ He married, secondly, Margaret Twysden, daughter of Roger Twysden.¹ He died in 1596 at Rouen, Caux, France.¹
     Henry Fane was commander of the English forces sent to assist King Henry IV of France.¹ He lived at Hadlow, Kent, England.¹

     Colonel Gilbert Claud Hamilton was born on 21 April 1879.¹ He was the son of Lord Claud John Hamilton and Carolina Chandos-Pole.¹ He married Enid Awa Elgar, daughter of Charles Elgar, on 16 May 1911.¹ He married Mary Blair, daughter of Joseph Allan Blair, on 29 November 1916.¹ He died on 30 March 1943 at age 63 without issue.¹
     Colonel Gilbert Claud Hamilton fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was decorated with the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1915.¹ He was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1919.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Grenadier Guards.¹

     Enid Awa Elgar was the daughter of Charles Elgar.¹ She married Colonel Gilbert Claud Hamilton, son of Lord Claud John Hamilton and Carolina Chandos-Pole, on 16 May 1911.¹ She died on 19 April 1916.¹
     From 16 May 1911, her married name became Hamilton.

     Mary Blair was the daughter of Joseph Allan Blair.¹ She married, firstly, Gould Brokaw before 1916.¹ She married, secondly, Colonel Gilbert Claud Hamilton, son of Lord Claud John Hamilton and Carolina Chandos-Pole, on 29 November 1916.¹ She died on 8 January 1961.¹
     From 29 November 1916, her married name became Hamilton.
