     Sir Arthur Acheson, 5th Bt. was born on 26 January 1688 at Markethill, County Armagh, Ireland.² He was the son of Sir Nicholas Acheson, 4th Bt. and Anne Taylor.¹ He married Anne Savage, daughter of Rt. Hon. Philip Savage and Mary (?), in 1715.¹ He died on 8 February 1748/49 at age 61.² He was buried at Mullaghbracke, County Armagh, Ireland.¹ His will (dated 23 November 1748) was probated in 1749.¹
     Sir Arthur Acheson, 5th Bt. succeeded to the title of 5th Baronet Acheson, of Market Hill [in Clonekearney], co. Armagh [N.S., 1628] in 1701.¹ He matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, on 25 May 1705.¹ He graduated from Trinity College in 1707 with the degree of Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Mullingar [Ireland] between 1727 and 1749.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of County Armagh in 1728.¹

     Anne Savage was the daughter of Rt. Hon. Philip Savage and Mary (?).¹ She married Sir Arthur Acheson, 5th Bt., son of Sir Nicholas Acheson, 4th Bt. and Anne Taylor, in 1715.¹ She died circa October 1737.¹ She was buried on 1 November 1737 at St. Audoen's Church, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.¹
     From 1715, her married name became Acheson.¹

     Nicholas Acheson was born before 1716.¹ He was the son of Sir Arthur Acheson, 5th Bt. and Anne Savage.¹ He died circa January 1716/17.¹ He was buried on 12 January 1716/17 at St. Audoen's Church, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.¹

     Philip Acheson was the son of Sir Arthur Acheson, 5th Bt. and Anne Savage.¹ He died circa May 1727.¹ He was buried on 22 May 1727 at St. Audoen's Church, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.¹

     Mary Richardson was born in 1720.² She was the daughter of John Richardson and Anne Beckett.¹ She married Sir Archibald Acheson, 1st Viscount Gosford, son of Sir Arthur Acheson, 5th Bt. and Anne Savage, in 1740.¹
     From 1740, her married name became Acheson.¹ As a result of her marriage, Mary Richardson was styled as Baroness Gosford of Market Hill on 20 July 1776. As a result of her marriage, Mary Richardson was styled as Viscountess Gosford of Market Hill on 20 June 1785.
