Andrew Agnew of Lochnaw was the son of Patrick Agnew of Lochnaw and Katherine Gordon.1 He married Agnes Stewart, daughter of Sir Alexander Stewart of Garlies and Catherine Herries.1 He died on 10 September 1547 at Pinkie, Scotland, killed in action.1
Andrew Agnew of Lochnaw held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Galloway between 1513 and 1547, 5th.1 In 1527 he was outlawed for the slaughter of Sir Thomas Maclellan of Bomby, in Edinburgh.1 In 1538 he was remitted.1 He fought in the Battle of Pinkie on 10 September 1547.1
