     Major Ronald Aird was born on 4 May 1902.1 He was the son of Malcolm Rucker Aird and Nellie Margaret Dummett.1 He married Viola Mary Baring, daughter of Sir Godfrey Baring, 1st Bt. and Eva Hermione Mackintosh, on 16 April 1925.1 He died in 1986.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was Assistant Secretary of the Marylebone Cricket Club between 1926 and 1953.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Major in the service of the 4th Company, London Yeomanry (Territorial Army).1 He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.).1 He was decorated with the award of the Territorial Decoration (T.D.).1 He was Secretary of the Marylebone Cricket Club between 1952 and 1962.1 He was President of the Marylebone Cricket Club in 1968.1

Charles Baring and Helen Graham.1 He married, firstly, Eva Hermione Mackintosh, daughter of Alexander Aeneas Mackintosh, 27th of Mackintosh and Margaret Frances Graham, on 26 January 1898.1 He married, secondly, Brenda Margery Blake, daughter of Canon Joseph Sewell Blake, on 22 January 1937.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Hampshire Regiment.1 He held the office of High Sheriff in 1897.1 He held the office of Chairman of the Isle of Wight County Council between 1898 and 1957.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
