     Margaret Douglas was the daughter of Sir William Douglas, 1st Earl of Queensberry and Isabel Kerr.1,2 A contract for the marriage of Margaret Douglas and James Johnstone, 1st Earl of Hartfell was signed on 29 November 1622.2 She died after 1640.2
     Her married name became Johnstone. As a result of her marriage, Margaret Douglas was styled as Lady Johnstone on 20 June 1633.
