     Sir David Lindsay, 3rd Earl of Crawford was the son of Sir Alexander Lindsay, 2nd Earl of Crawford and Marjorie Dunbar.2 He married Marjory Ogilvy, daughter of Sir Walter Ogilvy of Auchterhouse and Isabel Ramsay, circa March 1422/23.3 He died on 17 January 1445/46 at Finhaven Castle, Angus, Scotland, after being wounded 4 days earlier, while trying to stop a bloody fray between the Ogilvies and the Lindsays.3
     Sir David Lindsay, 3rd Earl of Crawford held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Aberdeenshire.4 He was invested as a Knight before 17 November 1425.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Aberdeenshire.2 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Earl of Crawford [S., 1398] in 1438.2

     Marjory Ogilvy was the daughter of Sir Walter Ogilvy of Auchterhouse and Isabel Ramsay.1,2 She married Sir David Lindsay, 3rd Earl of Crawford, son of Sir Alexander Lindsay, 2nd Earl of Crawford and Marjorie Dunbar, circa March 1422/23.3 She died after 1476.3
     From circa March 1422/23, her married name became Lindsay.2 As a result of her marriage, Marjory Ogilvy was styled as Countess of Crawford in 1438.

Patrick Lindsay was born on 14 November 1928.1 He was the son of Sir David Alexander Robert Lindsay, 28th Earl of Crawford and Mary Katherine Cavendish.1 He married Lady Amabel Mary Maud Yorke, daughter of Philip Grantham Yorke, 9th Earl of Hardwicke and Sarah Katherine Lindley, on 16 December 1955.1 He died in 1986.1
     Hon. Patrick Lindsay was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the Scots Guards.1 He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was a director of Christies, and head of the Old Masters department.1

     Philip Grantham Yorke, 9th Earl of Hardwicke was born on 9 April 1906. He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Hon. Alfred Ernest Frederick Yorke and Gladys Dunlop Best. He married, firstly, Sarah Katherine Lindley, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Francis Oswald Lindley and Hon. Etheldreada Mary Fraser, on 12 June 1934. He married, secondly, Enid Grunwald, daughter of Pieter Grunwald, on 27 April 1970.1 He died in 1974.
