     Sir James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 7th Bt. was born on 20 August 1813.1 He was the son of Captain William Baird and Lucy Dickson.1 He married Henrietta Mary Wauchope, daughter of John Wauchope and Henrietta Warrender Cecilia Baird, on 13 March 1845 at Edmonstone, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He died on 6 January 1896 at age 82 at Wester Lea, Murrayfield, Midlothian, Scotland.1
     Sir James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 7th Bt. succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Baird, of Saughton Hall, co. Edinburgh [N.S., 1696] on 23 June 1830.1 He gained the rank of Captain before 1842 in the service of the 10th Light Dragoons.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Midlothian Coast Artillery.1 He held the office of Volunteer Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria.1 He held the office of Ensign General of the Royal Company of Archers.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).2

     Henrietta Mary Wauchope was the daughter of John Wauchope and Henrietta Warrender Cecilia Baird.1 She married Sir James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 7th Bt., son of Captain William Baird and Lucy Dickson, on 13 March 1845 at Edmonstone, Midlothian, Scotland.1 She died on 3 November 1896 at Wester Lea, Murrayfield, Midlothian, Scotland.1
     From 13 March 1845, her married name became Baird.1

     John Wauchope was the son of John Wauchope and Anne Margaret Erskine.2 He married Henrietta Warrender Cecilia Baird, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir James Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 6th Bt., in 1815.3 He died in June 1837.3
     John Wauchope gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Edinburgh Militia.3 He lived at Edmonstone, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He also had two other daughters.3

     Sir James Andrew Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 11th Bt. was born on 2 May 1946.1 He is the son of Sir James Richard Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 10th Bt. and Mabel Ann Gay Tempest Gill.1 He married Jean Margaret Jardine, daughter of Brigadier Sir Ian Liddell Jardine, 4th Bt., in 1984.1 He and Jean Margaret Jardine were divorced in 1988.1
     Sir James Andrew Gardiner Baird of Saughtonhall, 11th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Andrew.1 He was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He succeeded to the title of 11th Baronet Baird, of Saughton Hall, co. Edinburgh [N.S., 1696] on 13 March 1997.1
