     James FitzGerald, 6th Earl of Desmond was the son of Gerald Fitz Maurice FitzGerald, 3rd Earl of Desmond and Alianore le Botiller.2 He married Mary de Burgh, daughter of Ulick mac Richard de Burgh. He died in 1462/63 at Mocollop.3
     James FitzGerald, 6th Earl of Desmond gained the title of 6th Earl of Desmond.

     Thomas FitzJames FitzGerald, 7th Earl of Desmond was the son of James FitzGerald, 6th Earl of Desmond and Mary de Burgh.1,2 He married Ellice Barry, daughter of William Barry, 8th Lord Barry and Ellen de la Roche, before 1454. He died on 15 February 1467/68 at Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland, beheaded.1
     Thomas FitzJames FitzGerald, 7th Earl of Desmond succeeded to the title of 7th Earl of Desmond.1

     Ellice Barry is the daughter of William Barry, 8th Lord Barry and Ellen de la Roche.1 She married, firstly, Thomas FitzJames FitzGerald, 7th Earl of Desmond, son of James FitzGerald, 6th Earl of Desmond and Mary de Burgh, before 1454. She married, secondly, Maurice Mor FitzGibbon, 6th White Knight, son of John FitzGibbon, 5th White Knight and Margaret O'Brien, after 1468.
     From before 1454, her married name became FitzGerald.1 From after 1468, her married name became FitzGibbon.2

     Alianore le Botiller was the daughter of James Butler, 2nd Earl of Ormonde and Elizabeth Darcy.2 She married Gerald Fitz Maurice FitzGerald, 3rd Earl of Desmond, son of Sir Maurice FitzThomas FitzGerald, 1st Earl of Desmond and Aveline fitz Nicholas, after 20 July 1359. She died in 1392.1
     From after 20 July 1359, her married name became FitzGerald.1
