     Henry Borthwick of that Ilk, 16th of Crookston was born on 23 July 1868.1 He was the son of William Henry Borthwick, 15th of Crookston and Rebecca Cathcart.2 He married Melena Florence Pringle, daughter of Captain James Thomas Pringle, 11th of Torwoodlee, on 27 November 1902.2 He died on 27 May 1937 at age 68.1
     He was educated at Madras College, Madras, IndiaG.2 He was educated at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, ScotlandG.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry.2 He succeeded as the 22nd Lord Borthwick [S., 1452] on 8 October 1928, de jure.2

     Melena Florence Pringle was the daughter of Captain James Thomas Pringle, 11th of Torwoodlee.1 She married Henry Borthwick of that Ilk, 16th of Crookston, son of William Henry Borthwick, 15th of Crookston and Rebecca Cathcart, on 27 November 1902.2 She died on 2 May 1962.2
     From 27 November 1902, her married name became Borthwick.1

     From 8 January 1938, her married name became Borthwick.1

     Archy Birkmyre was born on 29 November 1904.2 He was the son of Sir Archibald Birkmyre, 1st Bt. and Anne Black.2 He married Doreen Barclay, daughter of Robert Barclay, on 3 April 1940. He died on 25 November 1992 at age 87.2,3
     He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1943, in the Royal Armoured Corps, and was invalided.2 He lived at Comrie, Perthshire, ScotlandG.1 He lived at Overdale, Crieff, Perthshire, ScotlandG.4

     John Borthwick, 1st of Crookston was the son of Sir William Borthwick, 1st Lord Borthwick and unknown wife (?)1,2 He died circa 1459.2
     On 17 July 1446 he was granted the charter for Crookston by Sir Alexander Ramsey of Dalwolsey.2
