Colonel Francis Knatchbull was born on 25 July 1832.1 He was the son of Reverend Wadham Knatchbull and Louisa Elizabeth Wyndham.1 He married Sarah Belinda Persse, daughter of Thomas Moore Persse, on 25 July 1870.1 He died on 2 December 1920 at age 88.1
