     Thomas Holdsworth Newman was born on 6 February 1825.1 He was the son of Sir Robert William Newman, 1st Bt. and Mary Jane Denne.1 He married Elizabeth Laura Smith, daughter of Martin Tucker Smith and Louisa Ridley, on 21 April 1864.2 He died on 27 January 1894 at age 68.1
