Sir Charles Eric Hambro was born on 30 September 1872.1 He is the son of Sir Everard Alexander Hambro and Gertrude Mary Stuart.2 He married, firstly, Sybil Mary Martin Ridley-Smith, daughter of Martin Ridley-Smith and Emily Catherine Stuart, on 17 July 1894.1 He and Sybil Mary Martin Ridley-Smith were divorced in 1929.1 He married, secondly, Edith Estelle Ermyntrude le Poer Whyte, daughter of Captain Charles Cecil Beresford Whyte, on 11 December 1929.1 He died on 28 December 1947 at age 75.1
